A Dutch man exposed himself on an Oktoberfest table and was released on bail after being charged with public nuisance. The investigation is ongoing.

On Monday evening, September 22, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a 32-year-old Oktoberfest visitor from the Netherlands was in one of the large festival tents on Munich's Theresienwiese. As always, the tent was well attended, the atmosphere was exuberant, and the guests were celebrating together with beer, music, and traditional food.

Amidst the hustle and bustle and the festive atmosphere, the man decided to engage in unusual and inappropriate behavior: He climbed onto one of the tables in the festival tent, which already violates the tent rules, and in doing so attracted the attention of the surrounding guests. He then demonstratively opened the bib of his lederhosen, a traditional Oktoberfest costume, and exposed his penis with one hand in public.

This action immediately caused unrest and outrage among the guests present, some of whom were surprised and shocked by the incident. Since the festival tents are always monitored by security personnel, the reaction was quick: A female Oktoberfest visitor at the next table noticed the scene and immediately informed security, who were able to detain the man until the police arrived.

The Dutchman was then taken by officers to the Oktoberfest police station, where a complaint was filed against him for a violation of the Administrative Offenses Act (public nuisance). The police officers took the man's personal details and conducted an initial interview with him, informing him of the seriousness of his behavior and the potential legal consequences. During the investigation, the visitor was informed that his actions in a public space, especially in the midst of a large crowd, constituted an administrative offense and could result in hefty fines.

After the formalities were completed, the man was required to post bail to prevent a possible escape from Germany before the proceedings could proceed. Only then was he released. However, the police investigation is not over: The case has been transferred to the Munich Criminal Investigation Department, which is now taking over all further investigations and is examining whether any further criminal offenses may have been committed.
